Hot Dog Picnic & Hymn Sing

Sign up in the Narthex to attend a “hot dog and fixings” picnic beginning at 6:00pm followed by your “All-time Favorites” hymn sing.  Give Kathy Hoefler your list of your favorite hymns that you miss singing.  She will try to get as many in that evening as time allows.

In-Person Sunday Worship Service

We are having in-person worship this Sunday with fellowship time following the service.  We have one service at 9:00am.  We revert back to the 9:00am time through August.  A reevaluation of the start time will be made at the end of August.  We are returning to a pre-pandemic service routine, except for the following:
  • Thank you for arriving by 15 minutes prior to the service to allow time for parking and seating.
  • Masks are optional.
  • Please park near the church entrance for those who choose to remain in their car or must remain in their car as they are unable to wear a mask
  • The FM Radio Transmitter Frequency for those in the car is FM 107.1 MHz
  • The offering box is located in the narthex near the entrance doors to the sanctuary.
  • On Sundays when Holy Communion will be served, the following protocol will be observed:
  • Wine or grape juice and bread will be served. Prepackaged communion will be available for those worshiping from their car. No Common Cup will be offered at this time.
  • Distribution of communion elements will be served in a continuous single line in front of the altar.
    • An usher will provide directions to approach the altar using the center aisle.
    • Walk toward the altar where the Pastor and an assistant will distribute the bread and wine or grape juice wearing gloves.
    • After receiving the bread, wine or grape juice, and blessing continue to the side of the Pastor, based on which side you sit, to the table where you will give yourself the elements and dispose of the your used cup in the basket.
    • Return to your seat following the outer path located to the outside of the pews (close to the windows). Example: If seated on the left side of the church as facing the altar, return using the left side aisle and so on.
    • Prepackaged communion will be brought by ushers to those worshiping from their vehicles.
  • One restroom is available: the first one in the back hallway.
  • Childcare and nursery are not available.  However, a children’s Sunday School class may begin following the children’s message from the pastor.
  • Worship will last approximately 45 minutes.
  • Everyone has the option to enjoy the service either from their car with their radio tuned to FM 107.1 MHz, or the online service posted on Salem’s website “salemjarrettsville.org”.
  • *We ask people not to attend worship if they are feeling ill, have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have a compromised immune system.  We welcome people to participate in online worship and protect those at high risk from any social stigma associated with their decision not to attend.
