In-Person Sunday Worship Service

Starts: January 16, 2022 at 10:00 am
Ends: January 16, 2022 at 10:45 am

We are having in-person worship this Sunday with fellowship time following the service.  We have one service at 10:00am. This new time will run through Memorial Day, when we will revert back to the 9:00am time through August.  A reevaluation of the start time will be made at the end of August.  We are returning to a pre-pandemic service routine, except for the following:
  • Thank you for arriving by 15 minutes prior to the service to allow time for parking and seating.
  • Masks are optional but highly recommended.
  • Please park near the church entrance for those who choose to remain in their car or must remain in their car as they are unable to wear a mask
  • The FM Radio Transmitter Frequency for those in the car is FM 107.1 MHz
  • The offering box is located in the narthex near the entrance doors to the sanctuary.
  • On Sundays when Holy Communion will be served, the following protocol will be observed:
  • Wine or grape juice and bread will be served. Prepackaged communion will be available for those worshiping from their car. No Common Cup will be offered at this time.
  • Distribution of communion elements will be served in a continuous single line in front of the altar.
    • An usher will provide directions to approach the altar using the center aisle starting at the rear of the church.
    • Return to your seat following the outer path located to the outside of the pews (close to the windows). Example: If seated on the left side of the church as facing the altar, return using the left side aisle and so on.
    • Walk toward the altar where the Pastor and an assistant will distribute the bread and wine or grape juice wearing gloves.
    • After receiving the bread, wine or grape juice, and blessing continue to either side of the Pastor to a table where you will give yourself the elements.
    • Prepackaged communion will be brought by ushers to those worshiping from their vehicles.
  • One restroom is available: the first one in the back hallway.
  • Childcare and nursery are not available.  However, a children’s Sunday School class begins following the children’s message from the pastor.
  • Worship will last approximately 45 minutes.
  • Names will be recorded at the entrance for contact tracing.
  • Everyone has the option to enjoy the service either from their car with their radio tuned to FM 107.1 MHz, or the online service posted on Salem’s website “salemjarrettsville.org”.
  • *We ask people not to attend worship if they are feeling ill, have a temperature of 100.4 F or higher, have been exposed to COVID-19, or have a compromised immune system.  We welcome people to participate in online worship and protect those at high risk from any social stigma associated with their decision not to attend.
