DID YOU KNOW?  The ELCA is one of the few Christian denominations in the U.S. that fully supports its long-term missionaries.  Today, we have 240 missionaries serving in more than 40 countries.  These missionaries serve in what is called an “accompaniment” capacity.  They work with our global neighbors teaching, preaching, healing, peacemaking, building and growing communities.  (Excerpted and edited from “Stories of Faith in Action,” ELCA, p.7.)
