Salem’s Lenten Outreach Project-Ending May 31st

Salem is collecting funds to purchase piglets for God’s people in Cambodia. For every $30 raised a piglet can be purchased to support this important ELCA Lenten appeal. See the display in the Narthex for more information.

If you want to donate to this good cause, please send in your contribution to Salem’s mailing address:

3825 Norrisville Road, Jarrettsville, MD 21084

Fellowship Hour Signup

Please volunteer to bring in some “goodies” for our after-service fellowship. Single serving items that can easily be handled are the best. However, anything you desire would be appreciated. Beverages are provided. These beverage donations of coffee, creamer and punch are provided by volunteers. These items can be donated by just bringing them in. The signup sheet for the fellowship is in the Narthex.

Altar Flower Signup

If you want to provide the flowers for the altar on a Sunday, please signup in an empty block on the bulletin board altar flower calendar. Please, place only one name per Sunday. You may place a notification in the Sunday bulletin in honor or in memory of someone. Just include a note attached with your check or cash for $20 in the offering plate. You may take the arrangement home after the service to brighten your home during the week.

Ash Wednesday Anthem

Members of Salem’s adult choir presented the anthem at the 2020 ecumenical Ash Wednesday service at the Norrisville United Methodist Church. Pastor Betty Lou also participated in the service along with other ecumenical church leaders.

Salem Church Feeds Homeless People from Harford County Shelter

On March 10th, members of our congregation provided a dinner for a group of homeless people from the Harford County Shelter.  We met at the Norrisville Methodist Church Social Hall and prepared the meal there.  The folks really seemed to enjoy the hot meal and the company.  These are  photos of the group saying cheese in the kitchen after preparing the dinner.
